Poblano Peppers

Poblano Peppers are found in the Mexican state of Puebla. This pepper is known to be mostly mild but some variations are considered rather hot. It is also unique because when it is dried, it is known as an ancho chile that moves from the fresh green of the Poblano and turns a blackish color.

Poblano is also the name given to someone who is from the state of Puebla. Poblano peppers are one of the most recognized dishes or plants from Mexico and are used in most, if not all, its dishes and recipes.

The Poblano peppers plant is believed to grow up to 25 centimeters in height with the actual plant being about 6 inches long. As they grow, the outer skin color moves from green to a purplish green and finally to a dark purple that looks black. When it is meant to be stored for long periods, the outer skin will be peeled after the peppers have been roasted. It is at this point that they will be stored in airtight containers and this means that they now have a shelf life that runs for months.

These are turned into a sauce known as mole and then one skillet well seasoned chicken pieces and the sauce is added, and both simmer for some time before offering and amazing chicken dish.

When it is in its dried state or has been stored for some time, it can be ground into powder or fine particles that can be used as flavoring in a variety of dishes that are calling to be mildly hot. one can also make a meal out of the Poblano peppers as it can be stuffed with ones favorite ingredients like minced meat, cheese, vegetables among other ingredients.
