Small Gas Grills – What You Need To Consider Before You Buy

by Mia Kane

When deciding to buy a small gas grill, there are some basics you need to consider.

One of the main reasons people buy small gas grills is because the space they are going to be grilling in is limited. So the the first thing to do is get an idea of the measurements of that space. How much space do you really have for your grill?

Small grills are mostly used on patio’s, veranda’s, small balconies, and courtyard gardens. So checkout that space, allow extra room to get around the grill and then you should have a fair idea of the real space you have for your grill.

Another great thing about small gas grills is that you can take them out with you, to a friends or the park or the beach. (Just in case you can’t bare to be separated from it). If you are thinking of doing this, then you need to know how small they are when they are folded. Will you be able to fit it into your car, or carry it on public transport?

Lastly, what about storage, where will you be storing your grill when not grilling. Your grill will last a lot longer if you have somewhere out of the reach of the elements, where it can be kept when not earning it’s keep.

Having made your purchase it is a good idea to get a cover. You can buy one or make one, as long as it covers the grill it will be invaluable.

It’s important after buying the grill that you log it with the manufacturer, there are a few reasons you should do this.

1. You invoke your 12 month or extended guarantee. Don’t forget to do this, and yes sometimes things can go wrong with them.

2. The grill manufacturer will often put you on their news letter mailing list, which can have some interesting tips.

3. You can be contacted immediately if there are any problems found with the particular grill you have purchased.

Re calls are not bad in fact they are positive and show that the manufacturer listens to complaints and issues about their product and takes responsibility for them. Think of re-calls as positive, you will usually get a full refund or a brand new replacement.

Caring for your grill. Now the tedious part is that you should clean it after use. That is, if you really want to get value for money. Keep it clean and shiny and you will get many years out of your grill. Oh yes, and make sure you use the cover, they do not work very well when left in the box.

How much should you pay? You don’t have to pay a lot for your grill. The most crucial thing is that is suits what you want to use it for, and that it fits the space intended for it, after all that is why you are checking out a small gas grill. If on a budget, try to resist the extra gadgets that you know you don’t need.

And remember, you can eat healthy grilled food all year round, not just in summer. Having friends around on a crisp winter day, all wrapped up in warm clothing with cold beers eating a barbecue is great fun too.
